The human resources are the most important assets of an organization. Once upon a time, there was no HR department in an organization. HR was every body’s job and there was no specific requirement for this profession. HR is now a globally recognized profession. Though the core functions of HRM are recruitment, development, motivation and retention of human resources, due to technological advancement and knowledge base industries, HR has to play more critical role today. Its major accomplishment is aligning individual goals and objectives with corporate goals and objectives. Strategic HRM focuses on actions that differentiate an organization from its competitors and aims to make long term impact on the success of an organization.Indeed, the success or failure of an organization is mostly dependent on the competency of the people serving therein. But most of the organizations locally and globally are facing problems due to lack of qualified and honest human resources.
In order to contribute to meeting the scarcity of competent people in the corporate world, United International University (UIU), a leading university in Bangladesh, has introducedthe Master in International Human Resource Management (MIHRM) with the permission of University Grants Commission, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh from Fall 2018. The program aims at producing qualified and enlightened graduates to meet the global competitive requirements. Course curriculum and outlines would be updated on a regular basis. In addition to lecture and case-based teaching, corporate best practices will be shared in the classes. Qualified academics having PhD degree, experienced HR professionals andforeign degrees including foreign faculty members will take coursesof the program. It is expected that graduates of MIHRM program would be able to combat the HR challenges of the day most effectively and efficiently.
