MBA PROGRAM
During the last few decades, the global business environment changed more than ever before. Globalization, increasing competition, technological advancement, service orientation and multicultural workplace made the business environment more complex. As a result, there has been a major change in the nature of managerial skills required to take up the challenge of today’s business. The MBA program of UIU aims at developing the requisite skills of successful managers in the present business environment. It is an evening program. Classes start at 6.30 pm and end at 9.30 pm.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION
The candidates must fulfill the following requirements for admission in the MBA program.
1. Must have a Bachelor degree in any discipline from any recognized university.
2. Must attain the qualifying mark in the admission test to be conducted by the university.
3. Must attain a minimum score of 6.0 for the performance in the previous academic degree programs.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
(a) A student must earn credits for at least 20 courses (60 credit hours) for graduation. The residency requirement is 30 credit hours.
(b) The student must secure a minimum CGPA of 2.
COURSE WAIVER AND CREDIT TRANSFER
A student must have obtained at least a grade of B or equivalent in a similar course from any reputed institution for getting a course waiver. Course waiver is allowed only for the ten foundation level courses. Maximum allowed credit hours for course waiver/credit transfer is 30. However, for MBA in Professional Accounting, students partly or fully qualified by professional accounting bodies (such as ICAB, ICMAB, CIMA, etc.) that are members of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) may be allowed waiver/credit transfer of the core courses, and concentration area course subject to approval of the Course Equivalence Committee (CEC) of SOBE. The waived/transferred credits for MBA in Professional Accounting must not exceed 60% of the total credits of the program.
A student can re-take a course if s/he achieved below- ‘A’ Grade in that course.
CLASS ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT
Each and every student is required to attend the class regularly. To be eligible for the final examination of a course, a student must have to attend 80% of the classes of the course.
COURSE DROP/ WITHDRAWAL
A student can withdraw himself/ herself from a course within one week after the beginning of the trimester with full refund. There is no refund for any withdrawal after this deadline. No withdrawal is allowed after eight weeks from the beginning of the trimester.
